A bit about WIU
Located in Macomb, Illinois, Western Illinois University (WIU) is a rural institution serving a large rural region including Illinois cities Quincy, Galesburg, Peoria, Moline and Springfield, as well as Iowa cities Davenport and Burlington. WIU receives national recognition as one of 153 regional universities, and one of only three Illinois public institutions, to be named a Best Midwestern College by the Princeton Review. U.S. News and World Report (2015) ranks WIU as the 10th on the list of top public schools in the Midwest.
A bit about the WIU mathematics masters degree programThe WIU mathematics graduate program is a flexible applied mathematics oriented program that offers students an opportunity to broaden their knowledge in many areas of mathematics and its applications. The program is an especially strong regional program that places students in very reputable PhD programs as well as prepares students for professions in the region and nationwide. It provides students with a solid graduate-level training in both the theoretical framework and the applications of fundamental methods of continuous and discrete mathematics.
